Proposed changes to Thunderbird consent agreement

Community Development Activities Meeting: February 24, 2022

Thunderbird Representatives John Pergal (owner), Sergei Matveiev (hired architect), and Greg Ray (Booker) presented proposed changes and renovations that would require changes to the consent decree filed in the Allegheny Court of Common Pleas on 11/21/2014.

  • Two main changes were requested by Thunderbird:
    • Occupancy of Thunderbird to be increased from a total capacity of 382 to 573 persons.
    • Align the facility’s parking requirement with recently adopted changes to the zoning code, and provide an above code remedy, whereby valet service would be offered for shows that have an expected capacity exceeding 300 persons.

Full notes on the meeting can be found here, including more details of the history of the consent decree, reasons presented for changes, and resident concerns. A recording of the public part of the meeting can be found here.
