What makes Lawrenceville unique? Why? It’s unique because it was affordable, everything was closer to us, we feel safe too, the whole Somali community was here. We use to call it Somaliville.
What is one thing you would like to work on within the neighborhood? Why? Bring house to the old people use to live in the neighborhood.
How are you involved in the Lawrenceville community? More than couple times in the year, we have food vendor at the Farmers Market.
What would you bring to the LU Board (e.g. experience, skills, perspective, network, etc.)? A lot bit of everything: experience in housing because I have a LLC which rehabs houses in the county. I have been in Somali community from Day 1.
What is one fun fact that others might be surprised to know about you? I’m a father of four boys, two of them are twins, and I like to remodel houses.
