43rd Street Overlook

Community meetings were held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 and another on December 3, 2014 to discuss the Overlook proposed for 43rd Street. The Urban Redevelopment Authority hired a team led  by Pennoni and Associates to develop a plan for the Lawrenceville 43rd St. Overlook as recommended in the Allegheny Green Boulevard Plan. The consultant team presented their initial concept of the plan for the overlook and local residents and business owners gave feedback regarding ideas regarding design and the functionality of the overlook, as well as shared concerns and questions. Some concerns or comments shared by residents and business owners included making sure that the traffic that needs to get in and out of that area will still be able to,  that the design plays on the historical and industrial history of the site, and that residents be engaged as this progresses. A meeting will be scheduled in January, 2015 to review concepts for the site.  You can follow the link below to a page that has been set up by the consultant team for more information on the project, and to share feedback. http://ctacpittsburgh.org/public-comment/1122/
